TheFlock : 1, Genbu : -1000

So TheFlock absolutely murdered Genbu today. Ten minutes at the most. The first all BST shell on Quetzy to take him on, and they did marvelously well. Congratulations again, guys. Best of luck for the pop tomorrow.

I dinged 47 today in LoO. I love fighting gobs. Lots of yummy fire crystals, they blow themselves up, and they're kinda cute in a.. scary beastman-y way. But a really nice RDM was there killing cockatrices. I accidently got aggro from one (it moved as I was moving :() and it ate me, to say the least. He gave me a raise and would throw me a cure when he ran by. ^^

Beastmasters and Chocobos

A friend of mine -- a lolDRK. I'm a member of two green shells, but they are very differently green. TheFlock is darker, and RebelsandMisfits is lightlightlight. So I guess he has a darker one like TheFlocks -- but he thought it was the same one he has (which wouldn't be that big of a surprise).

TheFlock took out Bune yet again this morning. I couldn't stay around to see if the sword dropped again.

I am really new to the shell, but I can see that they are a really good group and mostly friendly. Tomorrow night they're doing Genbu all BST style, and have the items to pop him twice. I don't know if they're going to pop him twice due to how late their starting, but I wish them the best of luck!

I'd go if I could but I don't have sky, and my BST isn't high enough so I'd have to WHM it. And that would pretty much be terrifying. If I pulled hate away from the pets I'd probably die. Not probably... I would. Even still, I do kinda wish I could just go up there at least to take pictures to record it.

The funny thing is that I've never really been all that excited about sky -- and I certainly never want to do it as WHM. Don't get me wrong, I love my WHM, and I have every intention of pimping it out... eventually. But I've certainly heard more than one (horror) story about how white mages get treated in sky -- and I certainly wouldn't tolerate most of that stuff.

I dinged 46 this morning in about an hour and a half. 5k exp in less than two hours hell yes. And it was a lot of fun, too. I was able to get continuous chain 4's off the gobbies. Probably could have gone farther but only 4 gobs spawn and it's a 30 second-1 minute wait most of the time until the first one repops after I kill the last one. Or a really long run to the 5th. Or the stupid chain 5 gobbie wouldn't blow himself up (it happened..twice that I can remember). However I had really good luck today, only came near death once (was left with 4HP when my pet got hate), and mischarms weren't frequent.

I took some pictures of my chocobo chick, FieryAutumn. He's 12 days old... He was sick, but for some reason I thought that it made him look cuter.

I fed him one of those tokopekko or whatever greens then a couple of san d'Orian carrots. Then I made him go one a couple walks then I watched over him a few times. All his skills are still poor but he likes me. It's really just a few more days until he grows up anyway (at 19, I think). I really can't wait until then.

I got started raising mine kind of late due to having to move back into the dorms, but I think that's okay. Everyone else is about a month ahead of me and are reporting their results -- now I don't have to experiment. (Even though I have been.. I'm not one to trust other people's information).

So the story begins...

I've wanted to start a blog of my Vana'diel life for awhile now. Well, at least since I've read a friend of mine's.. and well, it seemed like a really interesting comment. I love seeing what other people are doing, and now I get to tell stories of what I'm doing.

I suppose, just for details sake, I'll document what I've achieved thus far.

I began playing FFXI at the end of July 2003. I started out as a RDM, got to Lv.7 or so, then started WHM, and I quickly fell in love with it. I finally (and miraculously) reached 75WHM December 2005. I eventually went back to RDM and it is currently Lv.63. But merit parties have made me fall in love with BRD, so it's currently 54 and waiting for AF (even though most of it is useless.. I think it's still really cute and would hate not having it).

But now, my current love is for BST. Before the MPK patch, I was seriously working on BST. I was level 33 when the patch hit, and I felt like it was a huge blow to my attaining 35. So, I quit for awhile. (Actually I attempted to level but found I had no desire.) My only regret is that I couldn't level fast enough to taste what it was like pre-patch. But after the patch is when I went back to WHM, so I guess it all worked out in the end. And now I realize I should have stuck with it -- really it affected my ability to log out and have my pets there but after 35, everything got easier. Now I'm currently Lv.45 BST and I'm back to seriously leveling it. I probably won't stop until at least 60.
